Stitches Squared
The CGOA Pattern Line is pleased to present, “Stitches Squared,” Pattern-of-the Month. Dating back to our 1998 conference, “A Tapestry of the South,” held in Atlanta, GA. The Stitches Squared Design Contest gave attendees an exciting opportunity to “square off” against their own creative talents. The squares became the property of CGOA and we are now able to offer them to you, one each month, as an educational crochet primer. When you have completed each square, you will be able to join them to make a commemorative afghan.
Be watching for the instructions for these special squares. Many thanks to Marian Kelly, retired editor of Old-Time Crochet, who edited each and every one of these patterns. We also thank the yarn manufacturers who generously have donated yarn for us to crochet the samples that are in the photographs.
In addition to these great designs we have patterns available for purchase. They are located in the CGOA Specialty Shop. If you are a CGOA member you will receive a considerable discount on these patterns. If you are not a member you may join today! To learn about other benefits to CGOA members go to Frequently Asked Questions. All CGOA patterns are under copyright and CGOA advocates and supports the adherence of strict copyright laws.
December 2006 Karen KlempAnother beautiful square by Karen Klemp, this design makes an interesting "twist" on single crochet. Square shown crocheted and photographed by Pattern Line Committee member Treva McCain using Caron's Simply Soft yarn. Yarn supplied by Caron International. |
The earlier squares for the Stitches Squared Afghan, dating back to March 2006, are available to CGOA members on the Members Only section of this website. Join today!
