I love this yarn. Being in the UK, I bought a few hanks of it last year and I crocheted a top straight away but had 2.5 hanks left which I am just about to finish and t-shirt with which I knitted. I can’t remember the crochet size but I have knitted on 8mm needles and the finished fabric is gorgeous. So soft and squishy. Perfect. The variation makes for interest and texture. Highly recommend this yarn. Oh and I wound it first. Easy peasy! :)

I was so excited to make a bulky cardigan in Clarity with this yarn. However it drastically underperformed. The lack of consistency in thickness is unacceptable in this yarn. It went all the way from a 5 bulky to a 1 superfine multiple times within a single yard and made parts of the cardigan super uneven. This issue was persistent across the 5 skeins I bought, and is unacceptable to call this a bulky yarn with that kind of thickeness changes. Save your money and buy something more consistent.

Loved this yarn - very soft and worked up very nice for the pillow cover I was making.

Honestly, this wasn't quite what I was expecting. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd realized how the width varies. It is sold as "bulky." In some parts, that's true. In other parts, the yarn gets very thin. I guess some people really like that, but it doesn't always highlight stitches well.

I love the rustic look of this yarn and as others mentioned it is super soft and squishy. The finished product does shed when worn so you might want to try blocking it first or putting it in the dryer on air fluff to help with that. I use a yarn swift to ball each hank and haven't had any issues although I do have to be a little more careful when winding. It's worth noting that the ends are woven through the hank multiple times, so its extremely important to completely unweave the ends before trying to wind or else you may experience the tangling that others have mentioned. Overall, it's a great yarn that I will be buying more of.

I absolutely LOVE this yarn! The “inconsistency” others have mentioned is what makes it amazing! The simple stitches end up looking so beautifully rustic. Also, the yarn washes great and feels so soft and squishy.

Love love love to crochet with Billow, but where are all my favorite colors??? The red and the purple were spectacular, and now I don't have enough to finish my projects. I'm honestly a little heart sick over the missing colors. PLEASE bring them back!!

I love this yarn. It’s really soft and unique. I wish they weren’t retiring so many colors- especially the lichen and Moroccan red. It’s a lovely yarn!

I'd looked at this yarn for a long time and finally decided to order some. Wow! I'm glad I finally did! So many 100% cotton yarns feel ropey and rough. Not this stuff. I'm just about done with a loose and comfy top down pullover and it's wonderful! SO soft next to my skin and the thick/thin texture really adds to the casual feel. I ordered more to make the same sweater in different colors for my daughter and just ordered more to make my grandson a blanket. This yarn is so soft and cozy, I'm sure the blanket will wind up being the one he carries everywhere with him. I may make a blanket for myself to keep on the couch :)

I love the vintage feel of this yarn! I was looking for a chunky 100% cotton yarn and when I came across this yarn I wasn't sure at first because it varies in size from small to large, but because of this variance the finished look is beautiful. The yarn also feels fantastic. I made a hat and I love it. Can't wait to make a scarf next.

I love this yarn!!! Agreed not really bulky but have had no problems with pilling or shedding. I haven't washed my sweater yet either...so we shall see. But I love the colors and love the thick thin variation that adds to the texture!

As some who can't wear wool my options are pretty limited. This made a beautiful chunky funky shawl but the width variations are EXTREME. It will look terrible with any more precise work. However the color is vibrant and it's extremely soft. Just depends on what you're using it for I guess

It creates sweatshirt-soft sweaters. But the pilling and shedding after just a few wears are disappointing. I was delighted to see my daughter put her billow-sweater on to go to school today. But I have to keep shaving the pills to keep it acceptable.

This yarn is incredibly soft and the colors are beautiful. I purchased Ivy to make a blanket shrug cardigan holding two strands together. The thick thin variation is exactly what I wanted for the simple stockinette pattern and maybe because I held two strands together it didn't make the difference as bold. This yarn does shed a lot but I haven't washed the garment yet so I'm hoping that will help.

Just finished the Sunshine Chevron baby blanket in Ice Lily Billow (for a little girl) and even had enough for a simple infant size hat to go with it. I finished it by washing on handwash cycle in my washing machine and drying on low (air dry) in my dryer. It looks and feels wonderful. The baby's Aunt isn't pregnant yet but hopes to be while this yarn is still available! I had no problems with fuzz coming off the yarn, and as I expected the extreme thick and thin, that was fine with me and added character to the project. Now I just need to find a pattern so I can make something for myself.

I love this silky soft, multidimensional yarn. I made the most beautiful throw blanket in white, several shades of green and pale blue. It's mine, and no one else in the house is allowed to use it. The thin and thick gage of yarn adds a very unique feel and look. I'll be making many more. I want to make a few for baptisms, gifts for new babies in blue, and pink. I'm obsessed! Love, love, love!

I just love this yarn. I was looking for a bulky cotton yarn that would work up quickly. I just finished a blanket in the rich brown color. It took me 6 months to make it, and the brown seems to have become even more rich in color. I have been using this yarn for over a year for various projects and am used to the fuzzies and the weight changes. It's perfect and creates a wonderful texture with colors that age well (so far).

Got this as to try as a chunky cotton for amigurumi, but didn't read the reviews....the thick thin is super pronounced and as such was not suitable. But the yarn is ridiculously soft, the colours I chose perfectly muted so had to buy more to make a couple of blankets and cowls :) still on the hunt for the chunky cotton with good colour range for amigurumi though :(

I read these reviews while waiting for my order of "spearmint" to arrive and was worried I made made my purchase too quickly. I was WRONG!! The shedding I'm getting is barely visible and the thick-thin texture is beautiful in stockingnet. I'm making a simple raglan pullover and love the result I'm getting. It's soooo soft and the color is gorgeous. I plan to hand wash and air dry but am really hoping I love this sweater as much after as I do now. If so, I'll be back for more Billow!

I love this yarn. I made a lace stitch top and get lots of compliments on it. I bought this yarn because I liked the look of the thick and thin texture. I can't understand the complaints about the varying thickness of the yarn. The photographs of the hank and the swatch clearly show how thick and thin it is. If I didn't want that look I would buy a different yarn. The complaints are kind of like buying blue yarn and then complaining that it isn't red. I have had no shedding yet. The cozy softness is an added bonus. I had no trouble winding it into balls. I did come across two knots, but have found knots in many other yarns. I will be ordering some to make a blanket.
