I have been dyeing this with both food coloring and Jacquard Acid dyes, using solar heat to set the dye, and have gotten terrific results. Pleasant enough to crochet and does not pill at all.

One of the best yarns for dying. I have sold hand dyed yarns for less than a year and one of my online customers LOVES IT.

Ever since I watched Chemknits' yarn dyeing videos on YT, I've been slowly stocking up on bare yarns. Unlike some of the other offerings, I wasn't really expecting this Highland wool to be very soft, and that would have been fine, since it was just purchased to practice dyeing. I got a nice surprise when I received it, however, and saw how amazingly lofty, soft, and it is. Fell in love! The uniform 2 ply twist holds it's shape while working with it, and knits up into a beautiful fabric. I tucked the swatch inside my shirt and wore it for a few hours to test and there wasn't any! Nice. :)

I bought this yarn to knit a baby blanket. I was worried it would not be soft enough, but I was wrong, it is super soft, and a dream to knit with. I am using it undyed, and it is a beautiful cream color. I would definitely recommend it.

I use this yarn for dyeing. The colors are vivid and take the dye nicely. I enjoy being able to buy different weights of wool, too. Good stitch definition too.
