Additional details

CotLin is a cool and lightweight Tanguis cotton and summer linen blend perfect for washcloths, spa gifts, and summer garments for both children and adults. Tanguis (tan-gwiss) cotton has a very soft hand, excellent absorption, and, because it is a naturally white fiber, a high affinity for dyes. The Belgian linen adds characteristic flecks and additional absorbency with very low elasticity, helping to alleviate stretching in the finished project. Summer linen has an extended growing period which results in a longer, stronger fiber. When blended with the already strong Tanguis cotton, it makes a durable, wearable, and soft yarn. The crocheted fabric will get softer with each wash, too.

I love crocheting with this yarn- it's soft and lightweight and perfect for summer wear.

I will not use this yarn again for anything. I made a summer top and loved it, but after a few wears the edges were looking worn and it was pilling. I decided to wash it to see if that would help. More pilling, and loss of stitch definition. It is no longer wearable after one wash. It looks old and worn out. It hasn't been worn 5 times. Terrible yarn. Save your money.

I did reach out to the contact us email and told them about the "pilling" issue I was having with the yarn to such an extent that I was leaving a literal trail wherever I sat to work with it. It also turned my hot pink hook a dull gray with black. I washed the finished sweater and of course there was black water in the basin. After blocking, I folded it and draped it on a chair that had a light colored pillow, and there were little pilly balls all over it when I moved it. The pilling seemed to be airborne. I'm not happy and I will not be gifting the sweater (lacy spring cardigan) as intended.

I made myself a cardigan - first time. It came out great. My only disappointment is that it is pilling/shedding after 2 wears. Maybe washing it a couple of times might help?

I love this cotton/linen blend yarn! It’s perfect for open stitch spring & summer tops. It has substance, but doesn’t droop with the weight of a pattern. The colors are rich and vibrant. Another plus, the strands don’t separate.

Very nice yarn. The color is true to the description/photograph. It crochets nicely with no splitting. I made a boomerang scarf for year round wear and the weight and cotton blend make it perfect for what I’ve made.

What struck me immediately when I started knitting with this yarn was the short dark fibers throughout the skein. I kept seeing them. Then I realized this product was a Tanguis Cotton from Peru. I Can not be happy with this yarn because of the oddity of it. I'm Not happy that I have to pursue returning it. If I could, I would show a picture of the fibers.

The color is beautiful and saturated and the yarn was easy to crochet with. I was pleased when I was working with it because I liked the weight of the fabric. It did leave some fuzzes in my lap as I worked with it, but the real challenge came when I washed it. Wow, the shedding! I hand washed and machine dried (gentle), and had to empty the lint trap twice. And now it sheds when I wear the sweater. I'm hoping another wash or two will take care of that.

Purchased this yarn to make dishtowels for a friend. I found the yarn to be a good blend between soft and sturdy, also not linty like some un-mercerized cotton so it would work well for a towel/washcloth. I had to work with two strands held together for my pattern so I wound two skeins into a cake. that's when I noticed that the skeins were not the same length(yardage). I thought it was a fluke but then when I did the same thing using a different color from a different order, the same thing happened. I feel cheated! One color was just a few inches difference between the skeins, but the other was a 4-yard difference! I would've returned the yarn but it's been a while since I purchased it. I guess I really need to get a scale and start weighing my skeins to make the grams are as stated on the package.

I love this yarn. It is by far my favourite yarn for clothing. It is a bit scratchy to begin with but after a few washes is beautifully soft. I wash and dry in my machine so it has really been tested out for durability. It gets softer with each wash! PLEASE supply it in larger skeins. 100g would be perfect.

Love the Sagebrush color - a nice soft green. The yarn is very soft and easy to work with. I bought this for a summer tee and would definitely buy again.

I bought this color because Moroccan Red was too warm/tomato-y and I wanted a cooler undertones red (I’m a ‘summer’ and wear cool undertones). This is somehow too deep/cool. That being said, it is a GORGEOUS color, but I probably couldn’t wear it as a sweater. It looks gorgeous in granny squares.

Oh, such a gorgeous color! Can’t go wrong with this!

A beautiful red, but too much of a warm/tomato red for me to wear (I had thought of making a sweater out of it). I am a “Summer” in terms of coloring and I wear cool undertones. This would not look good on me. BUT, that being said, it is GORGEOUS in a pattern of apple granny squares that I am making.

This has fast become my favorite yarn for amigurumi. I love the way toys turn out with it, and has such a pleasant feel while working with it.

I am so pleased with this yarn. It is fast becoming my favorite yarn. It works up beautifully. I do amigurumi and this yarn looks so wonderful when the piece is done. I have two more orders in the works since my first order.
