I had a lot of trouble with this yarn. It was hard to go from skein to ball, as yarn had knots, weaknesses in consistency and became very fuzzy. So disappointing given it was a higher priced yarn for me.

Winding the yarn was a pain due to how slippery it is, and dropping a stitch is a nightmare (USE LIFELINES!) but I'm absolutely loving how it looks and feels as it works up. Using "Thoughtful" to make "In Perfect Harmony" from "Luxurious Lace"

Can I block this yarn in the usual way? Does it hold up well, keep its sheen, after being wet? I have made 7 scarves that need to be blocked, but I'm afraid I'll ruin them!

I love Luminance yarn. I have all of the colors, and I have made a drop dead gorgeous lace collar and cuffs in Bare, in the process of making a lace Dickey in Bare, and I am almost completely done with a very delicate Victorian lace type of blouse in Charity (Oriel Lace Blouse.) The colors are simply exquisite, and unlike others who have commented here, I have had no difficulty with any of my Luminance projects. I love delicate-looking (though this silk is strong) and beautiful projects and this silk yarn is unbelievably perfect.

I have used luminous lace for several projects. As one review stated, it is not easy to knot by itself. However, blended with a yarn of equal or greater weight, it is wonderful. The luminous lace causes the final project to 'shimmer'. I have combined it with fingering weight gloss to make a faroese style shawl that is absolutely beautiful. I have combined it with 2/14 alpaca silk to make a cowl that 'shimmers'. I am now using it with laceweight mink yarn to make a cape.

Hand wound yarn ball on paper tube that was just the size to slip over the post of yarn holder lazy Susan. That kept control of the slippery yarn. Yarn was good to work with and the lace shawl blocked out very nicely. I had no problems with splitting or fuzzy yarn and found no knots. I also used #6 glass beads, with no problems. I will be using this yarn again.

The yarn is a luxury at its best. If this tip can help, here it goes: I use it in combination with a thicker yarn. It gives the silk shine and pearls or beads can be inserted, something that can't be done with a thicker yarn.

Beautiful yarn, very soft feeling, easy to crochet. I always wind skeins into balls of yarn by hand, and found this to be very easy to wind. I ordered just two colours (innocence and grace) for my project, and they are lovely. I would be very happy to see this yarn offered in a bigger range of colours.

Thought this yarn was gorgeous when I received my order. Working with it however, was a diffferent story. It split very easy leaving a fuzzy area where the split was. I was making a lace shawl with beads and it spilt attaching most of the beads. Haven't blocked it yet but hopefully the fuzziness goes away with that

Beautiful yarn, but it took me two and half hours to wind the unholy knot this came in into a ball. They'll need to sell this pre-balled for me to ever buy it again. I've only got one of two hanks wound and I'm not looking forward to the second.

I just got this yarn and omg so gorgeous...I did unwind one hank (Balance) and it unwound beautifully but when I did try to remake the ball using the ball winder, it was a bit difficult, but other than that, it is glorious colors and textures, I cannot wait to start my project with it. Well worth it.

The yarn is beautiful.....very soft and the color is great, but it tangled so much while winding. I wish it was sold in a ball......the hank was impossible to wind without cutting.

Holy crap. This yarn. I ordered Powerful and it is so bright! It's a true hot pick and it's astounding. And it's so soft! I have worn the skein as a necklace everyday since my order came it; it feels amazing against my skin. I have finally picked a crochet stitch I want to do with it and I am going to make a cowl because this has to touch my skin. I have honestly considered just buying skeins of this, replacing the thread that holds it in a nice skein with a beaded thread and just giving it as Christmas presents just like that. I might by myself more just to do that with. It feels so good just like it comes in the mail. The only issue is that this silk does fuzz a bit, not maintaining a smooth strand, so I can imagine it's going to split and be a bit of a pain to work with. But I can't bring myself to not give it 5 stars even with that consideration because everything else about this silk is phenomenal.

I had no trouble winding mine with a ball winder and swift. I love the deep jewel tones. I'm ordering more because I've found that I didn't order enough the first time (scared of the price), but I think it will be well worth it. All I can say is Wow. The colors and feel are luscious

When I opened my parcel, my reaction was WOW! The colour (innocence) was everything, I had hoped for and the sheen, lovely. But I found winding the yarn SO DIFFICULT! My suggestion, why not sell it as balls, instead of skeins.

This yarn is gorgeous! So shiny, so soft, I cannot wait to make it up, I just keep changing my mind about the pattern, maybe I need some more..
