I LOVE this hook set!!! They are my absolute favorite so far and so easy to crochet with. I only have 2 complaints: 1. They don't have the size on them 2. They don't also come in a set of larger sizes for projects using chunky or super chunky yarn. I can't get enough of these hooks! Create a set with larger sizes and I will be ALL OVER THAT!!!!

My absolute favorite hook set purchased to date. The only negative would be the hooks are not stamped/engraved with the hook size. However, they come in a decent case for storing by size.

I really like these crochet hooks. The hook is deep so the yarn is firmly held and doesn't slip off as I complete my stitch which had become an issue lately for me. I have wooden knitting needles and finally decided to try wooden crochet hooks too. They are smooth and wonderful to work with and they look beautiful too!

I've started crochet recently, but bought a yarn prone to fuzz, splitting and sliding off my aluminum hook. I went to find a solution and the internet suggested wooden hooks. I bought the hooks as a part of the Yay crochet kit (I left a review on the kit already). Value/Price: All sets as of today have a range of 39.99-41.99. I would buy at full price It's a fair price and wooden sets can be expensive. If you are looking at the wood sets and aren't particularly sold on one color, see if any are offered in a WeCrochet kit.I bought the kit for $50 and received the full set+yarn+bags+2 magazines. For an extra $10 I received things I wanted, and things that were nice to have. (Full disclosure the YayCrochet kit was discounted, but I've never seen them at full price. I'm pretty sure it’s a marketing ploy but a good deal regardless). Dimensions/Makeup: Height-about 15cm/6”. When compared, height of hooks matched my Loops and Threads aluminum hooks. Thumb rest-From the top notch to the bottom notch about 2”/5cm. Shaft (when throat evens out to top notch of thumb rest)- 1”/2.5cm When compared, L&T hooks were about the same. Thumb notches only appear on top of hook, and bottom is round like rest of the handle. Groove&Lip- yarn did not snag or fall out. Head-rounded. Four little round engraving at the bottom of handle for design. General info.- Hooks did not give splinters and have smooth gloss like finish. However, 3.5mm hook had slight imperfection on bottom thumb notch and a slight nick on bottom of handle. Wasn't worth contacting customer service, and was still smooth enough. I don't think either will cause me problems in the future. Labeling: There are no letter or mm labels anywhere on the hooks. While this may be bothersome for some, it did not bother me much. First, I always put them back in the given packaging as labels are there. Second, the colors rotate as the sizing gets bigger. As long as I know the range is an E to K hook, have all the hooks, and rotate the colors. It's easy-ish to figure out the size of the hook. However, this assumes I don't buy a specific color of th WeCrochet wood sets or I keep buying the mosaic set, and I'm not color blind. To a colorblind person the Caspian (blue and green) vs. Majestic (says it's purple with blue and green, but purple looks more black/reddish tone dark brown) hooks may be hard to differentiate. Ergonomic: They don't claim to be ergonomic, and they are not. I've only used basic aluminum hooks so the shape does not bother me. If you have hand and wrist cramps while working with basic hooks, these will most likely cause the same issues. Usability: As previously mentioned, the head of hook is round, but I would say semi-blunt. It's just pointy enough to easily separate stitches and/or glide into stitches. Significantly more round than the Susan Bates point. The hook also helped my problem with the terrible yarn I bought. Didn't fix the fuzz, but did significantly reduce amount splitting and falling off my hook. There is more resistance than aluminum hooks, but that would be expected as it is wood. While friction is more noticeable, I'm not fighting to get the yarn to glide. I can still reach my top speed of crochet and don't have to slow down. If you're use to longer shafts (i.e. Furls Streamline) the thumb rest is long enough to choke down and still be mostly comfortable. My only concern with choking down is the design engraving may cause irritation in palm or in between the thumbs depending on knife or pencil grip. If you prefer to choke up towards the head, the notches on the thumb rest are easily ignored. It would not cause as much irritation compared to the engravings. Personally, I kept accidentally choking up because my thumb would slip over the top notch. It was a slight learning curve to keep thumb within the thumb rest. I don't know if the thumb notch is just deep enough to be noticeable or I have a fat thumb. It didn't bother me, but was worth noting. The circumference of hooks grow smaller as the hook size get smaller and vice versa. This is same as with my L&T hooks, but seems to be more noticeable in these wood ones. This is partly because I have a death grip on my hooks. It's not easy to break aluminum, but may be easy to break wood. I've used most, if not all the hooks, and they have survived my death grip. So I would say they are pretty sturdy. I would definitely recommend and would buy at full price.
