I think that the hook is very pretty and lightweight. I bought an "I" and "J" hook and found that holding them next to each other it is easy to see the size differences. A marking would also be nice. What I don't like is the thumb rest. I found that it was not sufficient. It is long and very shallow and my hand tended to slip down when crocheting.

I received the G hook in my 1st Crochet Lovers Kit & love it! I've only used metal & plastic hooks so was anxious to try it. the hook is nice & deep so it picks up stitches really nicely. My only comment to KnitPicks echos Bert's review - find a way to print/engrave the hook size on them. I will keep this in it's original packaging for now. I will be buying more sizes!

I will agree that the color on the Radiant wood crochet hook is not as polished as the Caspian but I have used the I hook that I ordered and it is very nice to work with. I was using a metal hook before the wood arrived and the metal hook kept splitting the yarn or dropping - I did not have those problems with the wood hook so I would recommend them. The Radiant wood hook still has a nice, smooth feel to it regardless of appearing less polished. I would agree that it would be helpful to have the size of the hook marked on it somewhere so if I put multiple hooks in one case I can be sure which size is which.
