A silky blend of cupro and Mulberry silk will have you reaching for this yarn for your next warm-weather make. Samia glides through your fingers as you work each stitch making it as much a pleasure to work with as to wear. A sensational blend of two fibers perfectly matched to keep you cool through the warm days. With a slight shine to the yarn, you are able to make garments that drape perfectly for seasonal wear.
Cupro is a type of rayon made from a by-product of cotton production. It is made from lint-like fibers and other cotton waste that can't be spun into cotton yarns. Instead, these fibers are chemically treated in a closed system in Japan and processed to produce a super-soft yarn with beautiful drape and shine. Mixed with a bit of Mulberry silk, this yarn is perfect for beautiful lightweight tops & accessories.
We recommend wet-blocking projects made with Samia. High heat from steaming too close to the project can damage the cupro.
Dayflower is a saturated true blue. It pops when used with Pineapple or Cove.
Cove is a vibrant turquoise with blue undertones.
Like its namesake, Pineapple is a bright yellow with hints of a green undertone. It looks fresh and juicy paired with Cove and Bromeliad.
Bird of Paradise is a sophisticated shade of tangerine orange that doesn’t compete for attention when paired with other shades of Samia.
Like the color of some varieties of bromeliads, our Bromeliad is a vibrant hot pink with warm undertones. It’s a color that makes a statement.
Littlebell is a pale pink with cool undertones. Use it with Bromeliad for a tonal look or pair it with Mangrove for a sophisticated combination.
Taro is a frosty violet with blue undertones. Embrace the pastels by using it with Littlebell or take things in a louder direction with Bromeliad.
A warm, medium brown, Mangrove is an ideal neutral to balance some of Samia’s brighter colors, and it has a richness that stands on its own.
The natural sheen of silk makes this gray look almost like silver. It has a slight purple undertone that's enhanced when placed next to Bird of Paradise and reduced when placed next to Taro.
Moonflower is a very pale cream. Its natural sheen adds depth that stands on its own, but it also is the perfect neutral to make the other colors of Samia shine.
