Additional details
You'd have to be an alpaca to get a more natural fiber, this is all of the compelling, next-to-skin softness of alpaca for the sustainably minded. The natural warmth of alpaca fiber creates a wonderful yarn for luxuriously cozy garments and accessories that stitch up in a trice.
While Simply Alpaca's loose ply gives finished projects excellent drape, it also means this yarn can be worked on a variety of hook sizes to achieve different fabric densities. It's possible to use this yarn in worsted weight projects, however, we recommend a larger Aran/HW gauge for an open, airy finished fabric. A larger gauge allows these beautiful fibers to bloom after blocking resulting in an even more luxurious project.
No dyes or bleach are used to process the yarn; a full spectrum of natural shades is created by meticulously sorting the fiber. As colors are naturally occurring, some variation from skein to skein is normal.

This is definitely not aran weight yarn, more like DK. Pay attention to the yards per gram. Nonetheless, I used it for a baby blanket so gauge was not critical. It's soft, warm, and very voluminous when folded. Turned out beautiful.

Absolutely, love this yarn! Bought color Alfonse, made cabled hat. It is very warm and soft.

Stunning. Soft. I agree about the weight so I held it double for a hat. My daughter says it’s the softest and warmest hat I’ve made her. Definitely her favorite. Ordered more.

Just a warning to those who are planning to make sweaters from this - or any other 100% alpaca yarn. Yes, it's incredibly soft. And very warm. However, unlike wool, it will stretch out. Better to get an alpaca/wool blend for things like sweaters. Pure alpaca works better - in the long run - in things like hats, mittens, winter scarves and shawls.

You know what, gauge complainers, make a swatch and adjust. This yarn is awesome, it makes a dreamy soft fabric for a totally reasonable price. I made my daughter a cardigan, and I’m going to get more of this for myself when it’s back in stock. Love. Love. Love.

I like the fiber and the color, but there is no way this is aran weight. I am very familiar with the gauge and body of aran sweaters, and this yarn was more like a standard DK weight. Fortunately I bought extra and can work it doubled up.
