Additional details

Lighten up your projects with your favorite 100% Peruvian Highland wool by using Wool of the Andes Sport! Peruvian Highland wool is a strong fiber that has an excellent balance of structure, loft, and drape, and Wool of the Andes Sport is our finest-gauge yarn available in the Wool of the Andes family. Wool of the Andes’ extensive color palette is just as versatile as the yarn itself, with dozens of solids and heathers to choose from.

Use Wool of the Andes to create bouncy cables, gorgeous textures, or beautiful colorwork. As a "sticky" wool–meaning the fibers grip lightly together–Wool of the Andes Sport is an ideal choice for both stranded colorwork and intarsia because stitches "stick" in place and won’t shift or loosen as you work, and the wide selection of saturated colors provides a wonderful palette for projects. 50g balls make it easy to add a wide variety of colors to your projects without waste, and for larger single-color projects, this sticky wool will splice together with ease when using the felted join. In addition to being great for projects where your stitches are on display, Wool of the Andes also felts beautifully with warm water and agitation, creating a dense, durable fabric with structure for felted slippers, bags, and beyond.

I love WOTA yarn! It is such high quality for an excellent price, and the color range is inspirational. I prefer regular wool rather than superwash, and even the regular WOTA isn't scratchy when washed with wool wash. I have purchased WOTA in sport weight, worsted, and bulky; they are all wonderful (the worsted is a bit light for worsted, however). I will purchase WOTA again with pleasure,as it is quality wool at box-store, acrylic yarn prices. (Plus, with the discount code MYYARNPACK, you can get an additional 10% off if you buy ten skeins of the same kind of yarn; they do not even have to be the same color! )

I chose this yarn for a hat and I found it to be a bit scratchy. I would definitely use this for a pullover or for another layering garment, though.

Loved the wool yarn Camel Heather. The perfect color match to complete my project. Thank you.

Bought 20 balls of claret heather. I found the color to be pretty spot on. Maybe on first glance at the web site photo you may get the impression it's slightly brighter purple but it's really close. Softens considerably after washed. Nice and springy. I think it's closer to light worsted dk weight in my opinion but that suits my needs perfectly. Only wish it came in larger balls.

It came when it was estimated to be here and the colors are very true to the screen. I am so excited to start working with it!

I ordered a bunch of this when it was on sale, with no plans for usage. I found an amazing light weight shawl pattern and used this for it. I was surprised at how nice the yarn was to work with. It isn't scratchy, at all, and has a beautiful drape to it.

I love this thinner-weight 100% wool, please expand the color selection to match the worsted weight colors. There are so many more amazing colors available in the thicker version that I would love to see for lighterweight wool sweaters :D

I absolutely LOVEWool of the Andes Sport! It is the perfect yarn for doing beautifully stranded work! I bought it as an alternate for Rowan Felted Tweed and I think that this is just as soft, durable, workable and wonderful, at less than half the cost! This way I can make two fair isle sweaters, plus a couple hats, for about the same price as just one.

I love the colors available and plan to use three matching for one child's sweater.

I am about to order this yarn for the fourth time. Made wonderful sweaters for the men in my life. It is a joy to work with, not a heavy yarn ,yet warm. The price is outstanding. I cannot say enough. Great yarn.

I bought this yarn on 3 separate occasions this year to make Christmas stockings for some friends grandchildren. I did a smallish order first as I was skeptical of the quality. After the first order, I placed 2 more orders. You can't beat it for the price and quality! For this particular project (making at least 15 stockings), I needed a ton of colors-I am impressed by the color range. I am sure I will be back for more!

I just finished some mittens with the dove heather and they are so comfy. The fiber is soft, but strong. Every time I wear them people tell me how much they love the color( even when they have mentioned it ten times already). I also have the sage brush which is beautiful as well.
