Additional details

Debuting in 2005, Andean Treasure was one of our first exclusive luxury yarns, and the decades of gorgeous projects created with it make it easy to see why it continues to be so beloved!

Timeless heathered colors add depth and complexity to one of Peru’s finest fibers to create a yarn that is as much a treat to craft with as it is to wear. Made of Peruvian baby alpaca, Andean Treasure both looks and feels luxurious with beautiful drape and hand feel. When producing alpaca yarns, alpaca fibers are sorted by their diameter (micron count), and the finest fibers are the softest. Baby alpaca is one of the softest and finest classifications of alpaca, and it's also a delightfully warm, and cozy fiber, holding in heat better than sheep’s wool. Andean Treasure is a decadent choice for next-to-skin winter accessories like scarves, cowls, hats, and headbands, and it looks particularly nice in lacy stitch patterns. For some quiet luxury, try Andean Treasure for felting projects, like felted slippers.

The Horchata Heather color, beige, is a great almost "bare" color but a bit warmer. Made a sweater of snowshoe design and boat neck. The alpaca feels soft and warm. I will not be able to wear until Fall/Winter. Haven't washed it yet.

This yarn is lovely! Very soft and knits well. I do think it's a little heavy for sport weight though. It has the same yds per 50g as Wool of the Andes worsted weight. So check yards needed for projects, not just grams.

I purchased the Sapphire Heather to knit a scarf for my husband. It is true to the colour online. It knits up beautifully and my husband is thrilled! I definitely will purchase again. Would love a cherry red colour!

Please don't ever discontinue this yarn. The colors are saturated and pure, the fiber super yummy soft. It's like candy for my fingers. I love absolutely everything you guys make. But never ever get rid of this. If I want to make a gift, this is my default. I've made myself several pieces with this yarn, and hope to make many more.

Knits up beautifully into a luxurious-feeling fabric. I got Midnight and Fog, and on my screen Midnight looked like a sort of a rich, royal blue, but in person it comes off as more of a reeeeeeaaaaaaaally deep teal. The colors still work beautifully together and this is probably my favorite project ever.

Aaaaaaaaa..... softer than a baby's (...) Calypso heather looks much more subtle in color than that pictured. A gorgeous teal.

This yarn feels like kitten fur! I can't wait for the weather to get cold again so I can actually wear the pullover I'm making. Will definitely buy this again for future projects.

I have used this yarn and made mittens and a owl that clings closely to my neck. Not even a hint of an itch on my very sensitive skin.

I love this yarn! Not at all itchy, very soft and warm, does not pill - would love more colors for mittens!

I think this is my ultimate favorite yarn! It is so airy and soft and is just a dream to work with. I worry about having to rip out any yarns that have some loft to it as it can get messy but this yarn is a breeze to frog if needed. This has become my go-to fiber for so many projects! Love it!

I agree the yarn is wonderfully soft and more colors are necessary.

Just received shipment of this yarn in "Embers." SO exquisitely soft! Bought this shade to make a scarf for a wool-allergic friend. Am ordering a couple of other colors: one for another friend, one for me. YES please: more colors!!!!!

Yes, please, more colors! Wouldn't this be great in almost as many colors as the Palette line? A softer choice in as many colors would really bolster options for sweaters, scarves, mitts, hats, shawls, you name it! Excellent fiber! Never disappoints! (Just more colors!)

Fabulous yarn! I adore it and only wish there were more colors available (especially an aubergine purple). I recently crocheted a long infinity scarf with the Embers shade and it's absolutely delicious.

This is perfect yarn for baby knits as gifts, it's beautifully soft without a lot of tickly fibers.
