Inspired by the colors and shapes of a desert in bloom, this scarf uses a variety of stitches to capture the textures of a landscape marked by extreme contrasts.
Ten square motifs are crocheted in the round using eyecatching and fun-to-stitch picots, post stitches, and slanting clusters. Subsequent motifs are joined on one side in the final round using a join-as-you-go (JAYGO) method. The resulting pattern appears to travel across motifs to create a continuous design.
