WeCrochet Expanded Bright Crochet Hook Set

These hooks are awesome! They come in a large variety of sizes and the sizes are clearly visible on each hook. The hook itself is so smooth it slides through the yarn like butter! I definitely recommend these hooks!

Better than the Clover Amour hooks. I’ve been crocheting for many years, but had only ever used a cheap metal hook set purchased from Amazon and gifted to me. Those worked fine, but my hands would always get cold while using them due to the metal, and using fingerless gloves while crocheting felt too weird, so I was curious about getting a set that had the grippy handles. Originally I was looking into the Clover Amour set because they seem to be well reviewed and loved by crochet YouTubers. But when I read the description I noticed that it contained weird sizes that I’ve literally never seen used in any pattern ever. In all my years of crocheting I’ve never needed a hook size ending in .25 or .75, and since I primarily work with worsted/weight 4 yarn and above, and never work with anything smaller than a weight 3, I came to the conclusion that most of the hooks in the Amour set would be smaller than I would ever use. They were also almost triple the price of this set for fewer hooks, and I didn’t like how the larger sizes (for individual purchase that aren’t included in the set) are plastic instead of metal like the rest of the set. So my birthday is coming up I wanted to treat myself and purchased these instead, and I am so glad I did. Not only do you get almost double the amount of hooks for a third of the price of the Amour set, but they’re all the standard .00 and .5 sizing, and the larger sizes are also metal like the rest of the set, not plastic like the Amour ones. I also prefer the metal of these over the metal of my old set from Amazon. Something about the texture makes tension better and easier, especially on more stubborn or difficult to work with fibers such as cotton and blanket yarn. They’re super comfortable to use, and thanks to the rubber grippy handles, my hands no longer get cold from the metal while in use. I highly recommend these for everyone, but especially if you prefer working with weight 4 yarn and above and need metal hook sizes not included in the Amour set. If you’ve been eyeing the Amour set but don’t want to spend that much money, definitely give these a try instead.

I received what I expected. I wish the numbers and formatting for the sizes looked the same for the last 4 as it did for the first. It sort of feels like they had their set and then grabbed 4 more closish looking sets to toss in. Otherwise the hooks are good enough for a beginner. I tested the 5mm and I like the length.

So I am new to crocheting kind of and needing a new set of hooks! This set came with 15 sizes! I was super pleased when they came! They are bright and colorful and they feel so nice in the hand. The yarn glides over the hook beautifully. I appreciate that the size is embossed on the side of the hook but I do wish the corresponding letter was there as well. I haven’t used them for long but I think I Will enjoy them a lot. For $25 how could you not??
