Half double crochet is the stitch halfway in height between single crochet and double crochet. This is a common stitch for hats, shawls, garments, and different kinds of shaping.
How to do it
Yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch or space, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 3 loops.
